Business Starting Grants

Does anyone know about Business Start up grants?

Where would I go for that information? I really want to start my own business but don't have the best credit for a loan. I have been told to look into getting a grant. Is there anyone out there that can help me?

1. Go to grants.gov/ and follow the instructions. You will find that unless you are in basic research, there are no grants to start a small business.
2. There aren't any commerical grants. Unless your city has one, and at least 2 cities in the US do, you are need to fund your own business just like the rest of us.
3. Long time ago when I was unemployed and receiving unemployment benefit there was a course I attended to help people start up their own business and it allowed you to get an extra £20 per week for 1 year and help on starting your own business with cash-flows and advertising etc, the job centre arranged it all. - I did ok with a printing business but ceased trading when marriage ended.
4. Try looking with your local commerce department. Grant opportunities are limited to mostly non-profit and research.
