Business Starting Grants

Grants for start up Business? HELP? How do I get grant to start?

Hello and thanks for helping me on this question, I want and need a government start up grant however I have no starting point. I have been to grant.gov and ran around that site and got no where. Please provide me with information for a contact person via phone. I thank you again for this request and information. JazZz

1. From what I know, the government only gives grants to non profit organizations. You could get a government backed business load with the SBA. Go to www.sba.gov to find out how to get an SBA loan.
2. The government does give grants to certain businesses in certain fields. You have to do the research to find out the right office to contact for your field. Grant money is tight right now because of the economy. Some grants are not funded due to the economy. You were in the right place to get started. Grant.gov should have enough information to point you in the right direction. The problem is that you won't find an exact contact person or phone number. You have to find that information on your own. Once you know what type of grant and an office, you might try contacting your Senator or Congressman's office for more detailed assistance.
