What are the begining expenses and actions for a new business?
I am trying to open a new office that will offer insurance/notary/real estate services and kind of wondering what are my steps in opening a new business. Any books, magazines, or seminars that will teach me more about this? or maybe personal experiences to put me in a right direction. Please people i will appreciate every single comments of yours. Thanks

- oh I thought from the title you had no plan of attack at all. Having chose a business to start i assume would be the first step. I myself will not invest a dime in mine. Just alot of time. I started a website two months ago and have been working online to make money. It's going well and i just launched today a classified's section for people to list help they may need and readers who would like to help these needy people may answer the adds. It's exciting to build a business from scratch good luck to you. http://www.helpanother.blogspot.com
- I am sure you can go to any book store and find a book for your specific needs. I found one to help me open a salon that had very detailed lists of what i needed all the way from paperclips to what tax papers to file. Of course my favorites are always the "Idiots Guide" or the "For Dummies" lol. But the Idiots Guide to opening a small business is very good really. It even comes with a CD for some of the legal paperwork you need. Good luck!!
- Like the previous answer said, the for Dummies books are great. However, I think the human touch is even better. I think the best route is to find people already in business doing either what you aspire to or close to it. You can check you local yellow page or the local Chamber of Commerce website. Contact these people, at least three, if available, and ask them to mentor you, or in the very least, allow you to treat them to lunch to crunch numbers. It is highly advisable to work for someone who is successfully doing what you want to do in order to gain better insight into that world. You may find that the business is not very profitable or enjoyable, thereby saving you money in the long run. Or, you may realize that this is a pot of gold and all you need to do is twink the system. Either way employment in the field and contact with the business leaders therein, is the way to go.
