Business Starting Grants

Do you qualify for unemployment if ownership of business changed and you never worked for new owners?

New owners are planning to get rid of us once they have learned how to run business. Do not want to lose my benefits while I search for another job.

  1. Benefits are based upon consecutive months of employment, it does not matter who owns the company.
  2. As long as you don't quit, you'll be covered. Change of ownership, or change of job, doesn't affect your eligibility, it's whether you worked long enough prior to your job ending.
  3. Maybe.... wait and see if they offer a "package" and then evaluate it. From an old guy who has been there, done that, and bought the T-shirt
