How do I know who I can trust with my business idea?
I have an idea about a new financial product but I will require complex financial modelling to work out threshold. It will be hard for me to do it alone although I could try and read up lots. I am thinking of asking my friend(whos into finance) and my Finance Lecturer who might know something. However I do not know if they can be trusted in the sense that they have friends of their own and they might just go ahead with my idea without me. And if we put it into action, and manage to start our own business, how can we prevent the Banks and Insurance companies from following suit. There is no way I can think of to protect my idea. How unfortunate. How can I ensure that I benefit from my idea and exclude others from it.

- Write your idea into a paper and mail it to yourself. Once you start earning from it, patent your solution.
- The first thing I would do is to contact an attorney for advice. The second thing I would do is contact an attorney for advice The same for the third fourth fifth etc . The anwers you are going to get here will not be what you need for the most part unless an attorney is answering. After you have contacted the attorney write a good solid business plan and then contact whoever the attorney recommends. Best of Luck
- The poor man's copyright is not acceptable in a lot of court rooms. The best way is to get an agreement in writing, have an attorney review it an then you and your friends sign it with witnesses. You can even film the meeting for your records if you need to.
