3. Yes contact the Small Business Administration. They will be able to help you and have lots of information. You will be more likely to get assistance in the financial aspect if you are a minority and or a women.
4. I get this question all the time as a small business consultant/trainer. Most government small business assistant grant money is used by non-profit or community action agencies. These agencies then provide some type of assistance program that reaches a wide area of people (typically a county, or low income people). The program would assist you with some type of education or business planning help. These programs are very helpful. But the grant money does NOT come to you as an individual.
